Michelle's passion for the community and her commitment to improve equitable practices and opportunities for those impacted by adversity, is the driving force behind her professional and personal life. For nearly two decades Michelle has worked tirelessly in the fields of education as a Special Education teacher, and in the nonprofit sphere creating programs that advocate for the advancement and welfare of individuals with special needs and their families. As the CEO of Anod Care Services, Michelle actively engages in community outreach initiatives and works to build and develop local partnerships in an effort to eliminate some of the challenges preventing our most vulnerable families from accessing the valuable resources and tools necessary to accomplish success. Michelle is known in the community for activism and advocacy on issues concerning social justice and inclusion, which include but is not limited to empowering communities, trauma informed care, inclusion, and disability rights advocacy.

Michelle’s Credentials: In 2009 Michelle earned Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Welfare, and then went on to obtain Masters degrees in Nonprofit Leadership (MNpS), and Education (M.Ed.) at Arizona State University (ASU)

In 2019 Michelle was honored by the Mayor's Commission on Disability Issues (MCDI) Disability Awareness and the Det. Olsen Lifetime Achievement Award also known as the Pride of Phoenix. In 2019 Michelle was also honored with the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council as the recipient of the “One Community Working Together” awards and the Helping Hands for Single Moms “My Mom, My Hero” award. In 2020 Michelle was featured as one of eight highlight stories in the book Heroes in Our Midst. Michelle was named a finalist for the Collaborative Leadership Award by School Connect in 2023.
