To participate in community outreach makes me so happy—I love inspiring kids, helping them make strong and healthy decisions, and being a role model. On Friday, March 28th I was honored to help kick off The Greater Purpose Project's "School Heroes Tour."
The School Heroes Tour is a get out of your chair, wave your hands in the air assembly that inspires students to discover their inner “Superhero,” by exploring how they can use their unique talents to help others. The Greater Purpose's other goal is to introduce kids to real life heroes who are overcoming adversity rather than being overcome by adversity. This school tour stems from The Greater Purpose Project, documentary.
We were at San Marcos Elementary School in Chandler, Arizona (which was very fitting since their mascot was a Bear—made me feel right at home!). It was such a fun day where I told my personal story, participated in a Q&A with the kids, tricycle races with my co-host and GPP founder, Lauren Burgoyne, and we even hosted a contest for a Diamondback ticket giveaway to one lucky student.
It was such an honor to be a part of this amazing program and I can't wait to share it with Chicagoans soon!
GPP Founder, Lauren Burgoyne was honored to kick off the school year with Gilbert Public Schools Volunteer Network (VNET)! Lauren gave the keynote: "How to Inspire a Superhero Campus" to hundreds of Superhero Parents and Education Leaders in the Gilbert Public School District.
