The Greater Purpose Project is Hosting Food Drives with Arizona High School Students During COVID-19
Not all teenagers are breaking records on Tik-Tok during their COVID-19 quarantine! The Greater Purpose Project teamed up with the Corona Del Sol High School Girls Lacrosse Team to host a food drive challenge for the Kyrene Family Resource Center.
The food pantry’s shelves are filling up, thanks to the vision of 16-year-old Emma Dinnan. When the schools closed due to COVID-19, Emma thought of the Kyrene Family Resource Center, where she had volunteered in the past. She knew that families in her community depended on the food bank and she wanted to help. Emma shared her idea with GPP's Youth Ambassador, Lucie Grimes who shared it with our squad at The Greater Purpose Project. |
Our volunteers arranged donation pick-ups and drop-offs and zoomed around town collecting items for the Kyrene Family Resource Center. Emma's lacrosse coach, Katie Dirvonas spiced up the food drive by making it a competition! The coach divided the girls into mini-teams of five. The mini-teams received points for the items they collected and for their social media posts about the food drive.

The Prize: The winning team gets to decide what their coach will dress up as! We can't wait to celebrate the whole team when the quarantine is lifted!
